BURNING HINTS AND TIPS

Do not trim wicks the first time you light your candle! We trim them to the proper length for you.

If your candle has more than one wick, be sure to light every one Lighting only one wick in a multi-wicked candle will result in an uneven burn.

When you light your candle for the first time, allow it to burn until the melt pool (the melted wax surrounding the wick) extends the diameter of the container and is 1/4" deep. This could take several hours. Extinguish and allow the melted wax to solidify. This will help your candle burn better the next time you light it.

If you see puffs of smoke coming from the wick it means that the wick is too long and needs to be trimmed. Extinguish, allow to solidify and trim wick no shorter than 1/4". Trimming the wick too short will cause the wick to "drown."

Do not burn for longer that one hour for each inch in diameter of the container. For example, if the container is four inches in diameter, do not burn for longer than four hours.

You should not burn your candle for less than one hour each time you light it.

When your candle has been extinguished and the wax hardens, you may notice dimples and pitting on the top of the candle, and a white line around the wax at the point where the melt pool ended. These are characteristics of soy wax and are not defects.
